PRODUCT REVIEW : SHEA MOISTURE JBCO STRENGTHEN, GROW & RESTORE LEAVE IN CONDITIONER

Hi guys,
It's been ages since I've done a product review right? Sorry about that. I have bought tons of products since the last time but I haven't had time to do a proper review of each one. Its better later than never not so? I'm starting with the SHEA MOISTURE JBCO STRENGTHEN, GROW & RESTORE LEAVE IN CONDITIONER (now that's a mouthful isn't it?) I bought sometime in July.

Meet the product:

Product claims:
This reparative leave-in conditioner softens and detangles hair while controlling frizz. Perfect for  those who regularly colour, straighten, perm or heat style their hair, as well as kinky, curly or wavy natural styles. Formulated with nutrient-rich Jamaican Black Castor Oil and certified organic Shea Butter to nourish, moisturize and support elasticity so hair resists breakage when detangling. Conditioners provide a protective layer that improves the appearance of split ends. Peppermint oil stimulates the scalp for an invigorating experience.
Ingredients:
Water (Aqua),  Ricinus Communis (castor) seed oil, Stearyl Alchohol, Cetyl Alchohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil,    Panthenol, Dicaprylyl Ether Hydroxyethylcellulose,  Glycerin (Vegetable), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Fragrance (Essential Oil Blend), Caramel, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Mauritia Flexuosa Fruit Oil, Tocopherol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol, Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Flower Extract, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Vinegar, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3, Niacin, Dextran, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil.

 Directions:
Apply to clean, towel-dried hair. Work a generous amount of product into hair from root to ends. Gently comb through for even distribution. Do not rinse. Apply additional product as needed depending on hair length and condition.

How I used product:
I used this product on dry hair, on damp hair and in the Kimmaytube leave-in mix.
 Here's my verdict:

The good:
  •  No sulfates. No parabens. No phthalates. No paraffin. No gluten. No propylene glycol. No mineral oil. No synthetic fragrance. No PABA. No synthetic colour. No DEA. No animal testing.
  • It is just the perfect consistency for my hair. Not super thick and  not too runny.
  • It sinks into my strands immediately. No white patches at all.
  • It leaves my hair moisturised for up to 3 days with proper sealing.
  • It look , smells and feels like melted Vanilla ice-cream. Love it!
  • A little goes a long way.
The bad:
I wish it came in a different package. A bottle with a pump perhaps? I feel that a product with its light consistency should not be in a jar. I had 2 major spills when someone jarred my hands and I was really upset because it's kinda expensive.

The Ugly:
 Nothing!

DarkChild rating : 8.5/10

Price: N3600

It wasn't easy moving on from Cantu but my hair had had enough of the white patches. I'm glad I bought this leave-in. I love the smell and the way it makes my hair feel- soft and moisturised. I would definitely repurchase it.
Thanks for stopping by :-)

  1. I find shea moisture a bit drying unless i seal with castor oil...so maybe this is actually a good product. Will check it out when next I am stocking up.

  6. Funny I have double mind concerning this product. It didn't do much for my usual 2 days moisture and I needed to reapply morning and evening or else my hair felt dry. I noticed though that twistouts with the product was light and fluffy so that's what prevented me from chucking it out...that and the smell but I didn't repurchase after that.

APHOGEE 2 STEP PROTEIN TREATMENT REVIEW

Hi guys,    I don't know if I have mentioned it before but I have been shedding like crazy for months. I don't know how I still have any hair left on my head. My hair is also breaking and doesn't seem to retain moisture as much as it used to. After a really terrible day of detangling( I use a wide tooth comb now) and I knew I had to get help. I have seen quite a few Instagram testimonials on the Aphogee 2 Step Protein Treatment so I decided to try it out. Its a hard protein treatment that promises to stop breakage and shedding. I read a few reviews online first then I got right into it. I decided to get the sachets since its my first time. The white sachet contains the protein treatment while the lilac sachet is the balancing moisturiser.  N1000      The instructions were simple. To begin I laid out my products. From left to right- Aussie moist conditioner , applicator bottle, ORS shampoo, ORS replenishing conditioner(DC) an...
