PRODUCT REVIEW // ORS REPLENISHING CONDITIONER

Hi guys,                                                                                                                                                      I'm here with another review. This time its the ORS REPLENISHING CONDITIONER. Do not let the name fool you, it's actually a deep conditioner and not a wash out conditioner. Here's my honest review: Meet the product:     Product claims:   Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner helps to restore moisture & repair  damaged hair. Ingredients: Water, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Glycer...

Hi guys,                                                             It's been ages since I've done a product review right? Sorry about that. I have bought tons of products since the last time but I haven't had time to do a proper review of each one. Its better later than never not so? I'm starting with the  SHEA MOISTURE JBCO STRENGTHEN, GROW & RESTORE LEAVE IN CONDITIONER (now that's a mouthful isn't it?) I bought sometime in July. Meet the product:     Product claims:  This reparative leave-in conditioner softens and detangles hair while controlling frizz. TEMPORARY HAIR COLOUR = GREY

Hi guys,    I would really love to colour my hair. I think about it all the time especially when I'm on Instagram. The only reason I haven't had a dye job is because of fear. Walahi I don't want anything to happen to my precious curls by mistake. I was so glad to find this super cheap temporary hairspray at Blenco the other day. It doesnt look like much but its a really cool spray. I didn't know how the silver would come out but I must say I love how it looks. I think its a steal for N350. I must warn you though about the smell. It is terrible. I always spray my hair outside so that the air will diffuse the pungent chemicals in the spray.  6 shades of gray All you have to do to get is out is a quick rinse. Thanks for stopping by, K im B

HAIR ADVENTURES// MAKING MY OWN HAIR TRIGGER EXPLOSIVE GROWTH ELIXIR

Hi Guys,      Like I promised on Instagram I am going to gist you guys about my Hair Trigger DIY gone wrong! As you may already know, DIY is my thing. I love it. I also love hair growth about as much. So when I heard about Hair Trigger Growth Elixir from Dabs of NHCG I knew I had to get it. I went to their website and saw this;   Promises : "Hair Trigger Explosive Growth Elixir is an extraordinary formulation of vitamins, all natural herbs, and oils slowly infused with the special capsaicin properties of Cayenne Pepper. This blend has been proven to accelerate hair growth and thickness deep into the root of the follicle Where Healthy hair actually begins. The result is up to double - triple* your normal rate of hair growth in as little as 2 months with noticeable results in as little as 1 week. Some have grown from their normal rate of .5 inches to an accelerated growth rate of 1.5 inches in just 1 month!"   So I mailed her (This was about 2 y...

DIY // HOW TO MAKE A TEXTURED HAIR DONUT

Hi guys,     Its DIY time again folks and this post is about how to make a hair donut. You may be unfamiliar with the name but it looks something this: It is used to create bigger, fuller looking buns with  medium length hair. I have one  I bought some time ago for N250 so imagine my surprise when  saw this online: N1500 for ordinary foam? I asked my Instagram followers if they wanted a tutorial on how to make a hair donut and they said yes,so here it goes: MATERIALS: Foam (flat foam) scissors Thread and needle I'll explain what the Marley hair is doing there later. Cut the foam into a rectangle. Try to make it as straight as possible.  Fold the rectangle in half. Sew the edges together. (Pay no attention to the black smudges) After you are done sewing, turn it inside out so the sewn part is inside.                  ...

APHOGEE 2 STEP PROTEIN TREATMENT REVIEW

Hi guys,    I don't know if I have mentioned it before but I have been shedding like crazy for months. I don't know how I still have any hair left on my head. My hair is also breaking and doesn't seem to retain moisture as much as it used to. After a really terrible day of detangling( I use a wide tooth comb now) and I knew I had to get help. I have seen quite a few Instagram testimonials on the Aphogee 2 Step Protein Treatment so I decided to try it out. Its a hard protein treatment that promises to stop breakage and shedding. I read a few reviews online first then I got right into it. I decided to get the sachets since its my first time. The white sachet contains the protein treatment while the lilac sachet is the balancing moisturiser.  N1000      The instructions were simple. To begin I laid out my products. From left to right- Aussie moist conditioner , applicator bottle, ORS shampoo, ORS replenishing conditioner(DC) an...

GREAT FINDS // MEASURING SPOONS

Hi guys,     If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that my all time favourite supermarket is called Blenco. I have gotten some pretty incredible things from there. There's all kinds of cereal, pasta, drinks, home appliances infact anything you can reasonably imagine. But my favourite part of the store is the hair goods section - pure joy!  This time however I found something awesome for my hair business in the home goods section:  It's a set of measuring spoons from Ecko. The set contains a tablespoon, teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon and 1/4 teaspoon written clearly on each spoon to prevent confusion. If you are a mixtress like me you'll realise that this is an incredible find. No more eyeballing products. I've used it for some concoctions and I was too thrilled at the ease with which I went about my business.  It costs N780 which might sound a bit pricey for 4 little spoons but  its actually worth every Naira for the ease and accuracy you get. Thanks f...

HOW TO MAKE AND APPLY CLIP-IN EXTENSIONS

Hi guys,      Its DIY time again! Since I started my Hair Journey I have avoided sew-in weaves like a plague. One reason is that I just hate having hair butchers  stylists pinch and prod my hair with giant needles all in the name of fixing and second is the thought of all the damage said needle would do to my delicate strands. I wore wigs for a long time till I discovered clip-ins. If you have never heard of them, heres what they look like : So basically, you sew the clips on to the pre-cut wefted extensions and when you are done, you open the clips, attach them to your hair and then snap them close. Cest fini. Its pretty easy. Here's how I make and apply my clip-ins. I used this really pretty synthetic weave from Expression : N600 Step One:  Cornrow your hair. You should do this first because you will need to measure the side to side length of the extensions before you cut them. I did a side part I braided the ends an...
