My coconut oil hairxperiment

Hi there,
I hope you had a pleasant weekend. As you know I made coconut oil last week after doing loads of research about the benefits of coconut oil for my natural hair. As I waited for the oil to separate from the rest of the liquid I decided to do a little hairxperiment. Here's what I did:

I scooped up a bit of the creamy milk on top

This is what it looked like

I added a tablespoon of olive oil

 Then a tablespoon of honey

I mixed them all together and got this runny liquid

I applied it to my hair and covered it up with Clingfilm

I put a shower cap over it and went to bed

I woke up filled with so much hope. I eagerly removed the covering, gingerly touched my hair expecting to find the softest curls ever and I was shocked! My hair was like straw under all that goo. I was like what?!Straw after all my effort? I went back and re-read the research I had saved and I am still trying to figure out what went wrong. I'm thinking it could be because I applied it to dry hair (*covers face in shame) or left it on overnight (but how could that be?).Oh well!
I'm still going to use the coconut oil to thin out my castor oil, as a prepoo (once in a very long while) and as a sunscreen until I can discover why it made my already dry and coarse hair drier and harder.
In other news I did my first bantu knot/out and I'll share that with you next.

APHOGEE 2 STEP PROTEIN TREATMENT REVIEW

Hi guys,    I don't know if I have mentioned it before but I have been shedding like crazy for months. I don't know how I still have any hair left on my head. My hair is also breaking and doesn't seem to retain moisture as much as it used to. After a really terrible day of detangling( I use a wide tooth comb now) and I knew I had to get help. I have seen quite a few Instagram testimonials on the Aphogee 2 Step Protein Treatment so I decided to try it out. Its a hard protein treatment that promises to stop breakage and shedding. I read a few reviews online first then I got right into it. I decided to get the sachets since its my first time. The white sachet contains the protein treatment while the lilac sachet is the balancing moisturiser.  N1000      The instructions were simple. To begin I laid out my products. From left to right- Aussie moist conditioner , applicator bottle, ORS shampoo, ORS replenishing conditioner(DC) an...
