Look before you leap

Hi guys,
I dont know about you but the phrase "Look before you leap" was drummed into my ears as a child. It is a deliberate effort to ponder deeply the pros and cons before going ahead to do stuff. It requires careful thought but I have never been a poster child for carefulness. I am very impatient and with that comes a certain carefreeness(I hope there is a word like that) that has had some unsavoury consequences. In my healthy hair journey I have had to learn the hard way the importance of looking carefully before buying any product. On one occasion I bought a shampoo that I thought was a conditioner. I didn't look at the label properly, I saw the word "moisturing" and my brain filled in "conditioner" so I bought it only to discover upon attempted usage that I had bought a shampoo. The bad thing about this is the fact that it happened twice.
I was fooled by "Moisturizing"
I was deceived by the colour and consistency

Having learnt my lesson I decided to look out for the word CONDITIONER on my next trip to the supermarket. So with eyes open wide I marched to the hair product aisle and I picked a conditioner. Only...it wasn't what I wanted!

I overlooked the "clarifying"

It was a conditioner alright but not a moisturing one. I did not stop to ponder about the clarifying claim the product carried so boldly on the label. I used it but it didnt hit the right spot and I had to go look for another conditioner. This time I had my bifocals on and I read every word on the bottle and with much glee I found what I was looking for - a MOISTURISING conditioner :-)

My beloved condish!!!

The moral of this story is ALWAYS READ THE LABEL of any product before you buy. It saves you a tonne of money, time and effort. Most  importantly it prevents the gnashing of teeth due to one's own folly. Have a great week.

How to create a a sleek faux bun with short natural hair!!!!

Hi people!    So its been a while since my last post and I apologize. I have been all kinds of busy but I have got something really cool for you all today. I haven't really done any hairstyle posts on this blog  because in my bid to retain length I just cornrow and throw on a wig. I have been doing that for months with the random Afro-puff thrown in once in awhile but this week I just wasn't  in the mood for any of my wigs. I decided to finally do something I have been dying to do: a faux bun!! Its super easy just follow the steps below and you'll be rocking your faux bun in a couple of minutes :-)                                                                                                Preparing my hair I stretched my hair with my cornrows first. I took out the braids then moisturised and sealed: My stretched hair  I sectioned my hair into 2 parts. I started from the front section. I added some Ecostyler gel, brushed it lightly with a toothbrush and pulled
