Hair Update- Its been a year!

Hi guys,
I cannot believe its been a year since I big Chopped! At that time I didn't know anything about healthy hair journeys or that there was such a thing as the natural hair movement. I just wanted my damaged hair out of  the way so I went snip snip snip. I wasn't really happy about my hair cut ( you can see that from my one and only BC picture) but I just felt there was really no need to hold on to hair that was as damaged as mine. Sometime thereafter I discovered hair blogs and YouTube and the rest they say is history. I put my hair on a regimen and decided to keep my hair natural. That's one of the best decisions I ever made. I am so in love with my hair!!!!! If I could hug and kiss her I would ;-)
Of course there have been ups and downs in my hair journey. The ups are the new (and sometimes crazy) experiences that I have had with my hair and my newfound self reliance in all things hair related. The downs have been the inevitable  mistakes that have somehow turned into learning points. In all I really cherish this wonderful experience and I wish I had done it earlier. Here are some pictures of my journey so far :

growth!!

Lost the one for January somehow.

From the pictures above seems like my hair doesn't grow as fast as I thought it did while I was relaxed. Since I only began measuring in October 2013 I cannot say how many inches of hair I grew since my big chop but at least I have some growth which is awesome. I will do some fast hair growth experiments  within the next 3 months just to  see if I can get some extra inches before my next length check ( in August). I also want to trim my ends soon. Its been about 7 months since my last trim and I think I'm due for another because I have seen the stray split end or two.
That's all from me today, Thanks for stopping by ;-)

DIY// HOW TO MAKE AN APPLICATOR BOTTLE

Hi guys,      I hope you are all doing well. I have missed blogging so much and I feel really good that I can now so it more often since my schedule is getting a bit less crowded. I also hope you like the new blog design.     If you live in Nigeria then you are aware that things are getting out of hand financially. The recession is hitting really hard and it seems no one is immune. Inspite of this I do not want my Fro to suffer so I am working on making a lot of homemade products and utensils to ensure my hair doesn't feel the strain of the harsh economy.    Today I will be showing you how to make an APPLICATOR bottle from any old plastic bottle you have at home. Why bother you ask? Read my post about different ways to use an  Applicator bottle .       Let's get right into it. How to create a a sleek faux bun with short natural hair!!!!

Hi people!    So its been a while since my last post and I apologize. I have been all kinds of busy but I have got something really cool for you all today. I haven't really done any hairstyle posts on this blog  because in my bid to retain length I just cornrow and throw on a wig. I have been doing that for months with the random Afro-puff thrown in once in awhile but this week I just wasn't  in the mood for any of my wigs. I decided to finally do something I have been dying to do: a faux bun!! Its super easy just follow the steps below and you'll be rocking your faux bun in a couple of minutes :-)                                                                                                Preparing my hair I stretched my hair with my cornrows first. I took out the braids then moisturised and sealed: My stretched hair  I sectioned my hair into 2 parts. I started from the front section. I added some Ecostyler gel, brushed it lightly with a toothbrush and pulled
