Funkify your 'fro

Hi there,
I love my afro! Since I did the big chop I have been rocking it shamelessly. I'm not really doing well twist wise so I just try to find ways to make my afro look as good as possible.

1.First things first moisturise!
No one likes a SLA- Sad Looking Afro. A good afro should look well moisturised and glossy.

To achieve my gloss I use a glycerine mix - one part glycerine to two parts water.I spritz this all over my hair and then I seal with my olive oil and castor oil mix. There are so many products out there that can give you a good glossy sheen (lol) so invest in one or more.

2.Bring out the earrings!
To funkify my afro I use eye-catching earrings. As elaborate as possible(without looking clownish) Choose colourful earrings that compliment your face shape. These are my faves for now :-)

3. Don't forget your eyebrows!
Well defined eyebrows highlight any afro.Learn how to define your brows and try to keep them well shaped. Don't forget to "dress up" your eyes too.

More to come...

    1. Hi,
Like I said in my post you can mix pure glycerin with water and spray that on your hair.It instantly softens d hair.the most moisturising agent for your hair is water so weet your hair daily if possible and use an oil like olive oil to seal in the moisture. There are other products like cantu shea butter leave in,shea moisture products, giovanni direct leave in etc. Try out the water & glycerin mix and see how you like it :-)

  3. hi there! do i need to shave off my already grown relaxed hair to achieve the fro? or is there a way i can transition into natural hair pls?

  4. Hello Engee, sadly your hair cannot become an afro if it has been relaxed. You might have to do a big chop(cutting of the relaxed hair). However You can transition to natural hair. Stop relaxing your hair then as the undergrowth pushes out to a length you are comfortable with you can then cut of the relaxed part. Braids and weaves can help make transitioning easier as long as they are not done too tight. I hope this helps :-)

  5. Afro hair seems to work better with loop/chunky earings. I have been investing on a lot of them. I actually go out hunting assorted designs.

DIY// HOW TO MAKE AN APPLICATOR BOTTLE

Hi guys,      I hope you are all doing well. I have missed blogging so much and I feel really good that I can now so it more often since my schedule is getting a bit less crowded. I also hope you like the new blog design.     If you live in Nigeria then you are aware that things are getting out of hand financially. The recession is hitting really hard and it seems no one is immune. Inspite of this I do not want my Fro to suffer so I am working on making a lot of homemade products and utensils to ensure my hair doesn't feel the strain of the harsh economy.    Today I will be showing you how to make an APPLICATOR bottle from any old plastic bottle you have at home. How to create a a sleek faux bun with short natural hair!!!!

Hi people!    So its been a while since my last post and I apologize. I have been all kinds of busy but I have got something really cool for you all today. I haven't really done any hairstyle posts on this blog  because in my bid to retain length I just cornrow and throw on a wig. I have been doing that for months with the random Afro-puff thrown in once in awhile but this week I just wasn't  in the mood for any of my wigs. I decided to finally do something I have been dying to do: a faux bun!! Its super easy just follow the steps below and you'll be rocking your faux bun in a couple of minutes :-)                                                                                                Preparing my hair I stretched my hair with my cornrows first. I took out the braids then moisturised and sealed: My stretched hair  I sectioned my hair into 2 parts. I started from the front section. I added some Ecostyler gel, brushed it lightly with a toothbrush and pulled
